Why 24 to Fifty?

As you are about to read (I hope), this blog is about changing my life.  I'm 33 years old and I used to be a right lard arse!  At my "fighting weight" I topped 24 stone (336lbs/152kgs)….I smoked 20+ a day and I probably drank 3 or 4 times more than the weekly recommended allowances.  I now weigh 14 stone 7lbs (202lbs/92kgs), I don't smoke, I drink occasionally and I'm running 35-50 miles per week.

That covers the 24 in the title, so what does the fifty stand for?  Well I've challenged myself to complete a 50 mile ultra marathon in May 2013, less than two years after I started running and 2 years 5 months since I was roughly 24 stone!  Nothing like setting yourself goals right?

This blog is all about the races, my diet, the motivation and the highs and lows of switching from being a food to an exercise addict………I hope it inspires you personally or helps you to inspire people around you to get fit and live longer……enjoy
